the pilot in Haiphong Harbor or just happenstance they chose to put his

Tom
Pocklington has arranged for a special
flag raising ceremony at the Bonita
Veteran's Memorial, part of the
Sunnyside Library and
Museum complex in Bonita. All Indian Gal personnel, their families
and guests are invited to attend.
Frank Herndon, a former HS-6 Commanding
Officer, will be in attendance. The ceremony will honor the living and
remember the fallen. It will be conducted by a military chaplain and all
attendees will have the opportunity to participate in folding the flag
being retired. Additionally, the Museum will be open at
9:30 a.m. Please contact Tom at
hildaboy7@aol.com if you have any questions regarding the ceremony or
if you have recommendations for additions to this special occasion. This
will be the 6th flag dedicated at a special event in the short
history of the Veteran's Memorial and will be passed on to a Veteran's
Home, school, or military unit after 3 months of service. It is a
ceremonial or Garrison Flag (12’x18’). If you know of an organization with
a need for a dedicated flag please contact Tom.

Uniform of the Day: Tux, Mess Dress, Suit, Barong
Tagalog, Sport Coat, Original Flight Suit (health code and tradition
require that you wash it
before wearing to a formal occasion), original green HS-6 Flight Deck
Jersey, or original Flight Jacket with greasy HS-6 patch and Green HS-6 Flight Deck
Jersey underneath. Kind of gives new meaning to the word
"uniform," huh? |

San Diego
Air and Space Museum, or a myriad of other great places. Vern has left some evenings
open for attendee group get-togethers, telling sea stories, relating bald face
lies as fact, BS'ing & sentimentalisms.
