I was converting my 35mm slides to digital images and found the attached pictures of the USS Evans after a collision with the Australian Carrier Melbourne, June 3,1969. We were participating in a SEATO exercise when the collision occurred. Chip Chapman and I were launched along with several other crews to search for survivors and transport medical teams. I always carried my camera and took these pictures. I know some of you didn't make this cruise, but thought you might like to see how small an ocean can be when you are conducting an exercise with 100 plus ships from various countries.  The pictures show the USS Evans from various angles, the Melbourne and if you look close on the horizon you can see the USS Kearsarge. There are two shots from the deck of the Melbourne after we landed to transport some personnel to the Kearsarge.
